Prepare the ingredients<\/h3>\n<p>Wash and peel the potatoes. Then cut them into thin slices. *Younger children can help with the washing and preparation with supervision.<\/p>\n<h3>2. Cooking the potatoes<\/h3>\n<p>In a large pot, place the potato slices along with the milk and garlic. Bring to a medium heat and cook for about 15 minutes until the potatoes are tender, stirring carefully. <\/p>\n<h3>3. Mix and season<\/h3>\n<p>Drain the milk and place the potatoes in a large bowl. Add the cream, salt, pepper and a pinch of nutmeg. *Children can be in charge of gently stirring the ingredients. <\/p>\n<h3>4. Assemble the gratin<\/h3>\n<p>Preheat the oven to 150\u00b0C. Meanwhile, grease a baking dish with the butter, then carefully place the potatoes. Pour the remaining cream mixture on top and cover with a generous layer of Gruy\u00e8re cheese.<\/p>\n<h3>5. Bake the Gratin Dauphinois<\/h3>\n<p>Place the pan in the oven for about 25 minutes or until the top is golden brown and crispy. Ready!<\/p>\n<p>Ready to enjoy this marvel?
