Physical Education and Sport (EPS) plays an essential role in the education of pupils at the Lycée français Molière. Its aim is to develop motor skills, health, cooperation and self-confidence, while at the same time transmitting values of respect, effort and solidarity.
From early childhood onwards, psychomotor sessions play a central role: they enable young children to develop coordination, balance and body control, while laying the foundations for numerous spatial, temporal and social concepts that will be revisited later in class.
From an early age, pupils enjoy several weekly sessions of physical and sporting activities. The curriculum includes swimming lessons from Year 1 to Year 5 (CP to CM2), as well as cycling lessons in Year 2 (CE1), to work on balance, movement control and road safety.
In the French system, PE occupies a recognised and assessed place within the Baccalaureate framework. Pupils are assessed on their physical, methodological and social skills through various sporting activities.
This official assessment highlights the importance given to sports culture and the comprehensive development of students, on the same level as academic disciplines.

Physical education teaching is also structured around integrative projects and shared events:
Physical Education at Molière is about learning to excel, cooperate and build a sporting culture that is open to the world. Classes are held in various locations: the school grounds, the sports facilities and swimming pool at the Helios Nautical Centre, and the La Coruña de Aragón stadium, which is used for athletics.
The teaching of physical education in school is also integrated into a genuine educational continuum with the numerous sports activities organised by the Parents' Association, thereby reinforcing the pleasure of exercise, the discovery of new disciplines and cohesion within the school community.
