Halloween 2014

¿Truco o trato?

The Lycée Français now has its Christmas tree

This week we have installed our Christmas tree in the Maternelle hall. This year it is loaded with the characteristic Christmas baubles. Did you know the origin of these decorations? In 1858 a great drought occurred in the forests of Les Vosges, northern France, affecting the vegetation in the area. The trees were left without fruit, so that even the Christmas trees lost all of their plant ornaments. A glassblower decided to blow some glass balls to decorate the trees. This triggered a tradition that is still alive today and has spread to almost every culture in the world.
