Excursion to archaeological excavations
A day of adventure thinking, listening and learning!
On Thursday 4th May, the 3 classes of 6th grade went to discover the archaeological excavations of a Roman site in Aragon, near Sádaba.
They discovered that this city, which is slowly emerging from the ground (but whose name is not yet known), had rich houses, a forum, thermal baths and an aqueduct to bring water.
The students were able to meet archaeologists who are passionate about their work, which consists of «lifting each layer of earth as if turning the page of a book to discover the most ancient things», as Joaquín explained to them.
Going to the field allowed them to conclude the approach of the course, both to realise concretely what a scientific approach to the reconstruction of history is and to see how Romanisation spread in the Iberian Peninsula beyond Zaragoza.
